The office employs experienced law enforcement investigators who perform a number of different tasks. They help the Assistant State Attorneys prepare cases for trial by making sure all witnesses are interviewed and available for trial. They coordinate with the attorneys to gather all evidence necessary for successful prosecution.

The investigative staff investigates political crimes that are a conflict to other law enforcement agencies. They also work closely with the victim witness unit working with domestic violence and sexual abuse victims.

The Investigators man a duty office and give information and guidance to citizens of the 2nd Judicial Circuit regarding possible crimes. The Investigators also work as a liaison between the various law enforcement agencies and the Assistant State Attorneys.
